Welcome to my kitchen.

I’m Rebecca, and this is where I share the recipes I cook at home for my family and friends. These are everyday meals made in a real kitchen — adjusted as I go, written down carefully, and shared with clear steps and honest results.

Thanks for cooking along with me.

Home Tested Recipes started the same way most weeknight dinners do — with a half-formed idea, a look in the fridge, and a decision to make something work with what’s on hand.

This site is built around real cooking in a real home kitchen. Every recipe you see here is made from start to finish before it’s written about. That means the steps, timing, and adjustments come from actual experience, not assumptions.

I cook the way a lot of people do: practical, curious, and without overcomplicating things. Sometimes a sauce needs more time than expected. Sometimes a pan runs hotter than planned. Those moments matter, and they’re part of why the recipes here are written the way they are.

Rather than aiming for perfection, Home Tested Recipes focuses on clarity and reliability. You’ll see notes about what almost went wrong, what needed adjusting, and what I’d do differently next time. The goal isn’t to impress — it’s to help you get a result that makes sense in your own kitchen.

Most of the recipes are designed for everyday cooking: weeknight dinners, comfort meals, and simple ideas that don’t require specialty equipment or hard-to-find ingredients. When substitutions are mentioned, they’re ones I actually considered or used, not generic swaps added for the sake of it.

Thanks for being here and cooking along.
